N T Koine Greek

For the Greek course we use this book:

Beginning Greek: A Functional Approach

Stephen William Paine. Oxford University Press, 1961 - 325 pages.

Employing an inductive approach to learning Greek, this popular book emphasizes reading substantial passages from original literature rather than memorizing rules and forms. Grammar and syntax are introduced as the reading progresses. Beginning Greek features:

* Explanatory notes accompanying each passage.

* An appendix containing literal translations of the reading

* Presentation of grammar in large units rather than in fragments, giving students a unitary view

* A progression of passages, from the easier New Testament Greek to the more difficult Attic Greek

Resource Materials for Greek:

Jn 1:1-6   World English Bible  (source  https://www.biblegateway.com)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. Jn 1: 1-6 Koine Greek (source http://www.greekbible.com/)

Christian Kenotic Theory - 4 Lessons - pay what you want

This course is now available at: [click]

Kenosis refers to the true humanity of Christ as well as affirming his Divinity. If the line gets too blurred, the Chalcedonian Definition takes precedence.

The Chalcedonian Definition:

Following, then, the holy Fathers, we all unanimously teach that our Lord Jesus Christ is to us One and the same Son, the Self-same Perfect in Godhead, the Self-same Perfect in Manhood; truly God and truly Man; the Self-same of a rational soul and body; co-essential with the Father according to the Godhead, the Self-same co-essential with us according to the Manhood; like us in all things, sin apart; before the ages begotten of the Father as to the Godhead, but in the last days, the Self-same, for us and for our salvation born of Mary the Virgin. As to the Manhood; One and the Same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten; acknowledged in Two Natures unconfusedly, unchangeably, indivisibly, inseparably; the difference of the Natures being in no way removed because of the Union, but rather the properties of each Nature being preserved, and (both) concurring into One Person and One Hypostasis; not as though He was parted or divided into Two Persons, but One and the Self-same Son and Only-begotten God, Word, Lord, Jesus Christ … Council of Chalcedon 451 A.D.

Regarding Scottish Revival 1830:

Don Henderson said, "Listened to several lessons. Clear, concise, interesting, professionally done, educational. Scholarly rather than preachy. Well done."

J Buchan said, "I’ve heard this man teach before and he’s good. He’s taught college courses and is well-educated, informative and entertaining. He knows his stuff and explains it well. I was so excited to learn he’s teaching on coursecraft.net and I bought the course as soon as I found it. The introduction was great and I’m looking forward to the other lessons."
